Turn on the Instant Pot to saute mode. Add oil and sliced onions. Cook until onions turn light golden brown. It will take 8-10 minutes.
Now, add the meat of your choice, whole spices, and salt. Also, add green chilies if using any.
Stir and cook for 4-5 minutes or until meat changes color.
Add 2.5 cups of water and pressure cook for 25 minutes for lamb and beef. For chicken, pressure cook for only 5 minutes.
Add rice to a bowl and rinse it several times to get rid of any starch. No need to soak the rice.
Release the pressure and add washed rice. No need to soak your rice. Just rinse until water turns clear.
Taste test for salt and mix.
Pressure cook on rice settings. Mine was automatically set to 12 minutes. Use the settings your Instant Pot has for rice.
Release the pressure, and your rice are ready to enjoy.
