Instant pot white rice

Instant pot white rice are a staple in my household. We like rice with curry, stews, gravy and masala. White rice make a perfect side dish.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 and 1/4 cups water

Instructions

  • Take one cup of rice and wash them for 3-4 times until water runs clear.
  • Add rice, oil, salt and water to the instant pot and cook on the rice settings.
  • My instant pot is set at 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes instant pot will automatically stop. Release the pressure and fluff the rice with a fork.

Notes

 
  1. This recipe is for instant pot white rice.
  2. No need to soak rice for instant pot white rice but to make the rice on the stove top, soak basmati rice for about 30 minutes before cooking. 
  3. The water to rice ratio for the stove top will be 1.5 cups for every 1 cup of rice.
