Ingredients for Simple Syrup
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1.5 cups water
- 1/4 tsp orange or yellow food color

Make Halwa
In another pot, add ghee or oil and cardamom. Stir for 1 minute.
Add semolina and cook for 2-3 minutes. We are not going to brown the semolina.
Add simple syrup and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until the bubbles start forming about two minutes.
Take it off the stove immediately, cover and leave it for about 5 minutes. In the beginning, it will have lots of water but trust me with this step.
After 5 minutes, garnish with almonds and pistachios.
