Ingredients for beef mince
Minced beef
I use 80% lean and 20% fat beef mince to make easy bhuna keema or minced beef. A little bit of fat gives this dish flavor and I don’t recommend 100% lean beef for this recipe. Ask your butcher to clean the meat before mincing it because washing the beef after mincing, will remove all the flavors from the mince.
Spices
Most of my curries have salt, red chilies, red chili flakes, cumin, and coriander powder along with turmeric. These are some everyday spices used in Pakistani and Indian cuisine.
Ginger and garlic
I’m determined to share my ginger and garlic-saving hack with you soon. Almost all of the Pakistani recipes have ginger and garlic in them. This curry is no different, I used 1 tbsp each of ginger and garlic paste.
Tomatoes and yogurt
Onions are sweet when cooked down, to balance the sweetness, I use tomatoes and yogurt. In this recipe, I used only tomatoes but you can use a combination of both.
How to serve minced beef
As I mentioned earlier, this is a versatile recipe that can be turned into a variety of dishes from nachos, and tacos to a filling for a burrito. My favorite is to enjoy it with plain white rice and a salad. Yellow rice, puris, or paratha make amazing accompaniments as well.
