Samosas hold a special place in my heart, though traditionally they can be quite time-consuming to prepare. However, I am pleased to have discovered an ingenious hack that simplifies the process significantly. Thanks to this discovery, creating delectable samosas has become an effortless endeavor and these easy minced beef samosas make a perfect tea-time snack.

Ingredients for minced beef filling
Minced beef
I used minced beef for this recipe but you can also use minced chicken or lamb. Cook minced beef with ginger and garlic paste, and cook it until it changes color before adding any spices. I like to use lean beef for this recipe, if you have more fat in the minced meat then you can drain it or use a paper towel to discard any extras after cooking.
Spices
This filling has simple spices that include salt, red chili, cumin, and coriander powder. For freshness, add finely chopped cilantro and lemon juice at the end.
Ingredients for Samosas
Uncooked flour tortillas
Traditionally samosas dough is made with all-purpose flour, then rolled out and filled with the filling of choice. For this easy version, I used uncooked flour tortillas that are easily available at any grocery store. Cut the tortillas in half with the help of kitchen scissors.
Flour paste
Mix 1 tbsp of all-purpose flour with room temperature water to make a thick paste, apply this paste to the flat side of the tortillas and then fold over to make the cone. Watch this video to see how I shaped samosas.
How to serve minced beef samosas
Samosas are perfect for tea time, as an appetizer, or starter for a party, Serve it with green chutney. You can find different types of chutney recipes, they are very easy to put together and elevate the flavor of any dish including samosas.
How to store samosa
Samosas taste best when they are fried and served right away, I don’t recommend storing leftovers in the refrigerator. You can store uncooked and filled samosas in the refrigerator for up to a week and freeze them for a couple of months. Actually, frozen samosas are perfect appetizers, especially during Ramadan. Freeze samosas in a single layer, once they are frozen put them in a plastic bag and use as needed. To fry frozen samosas, add them to warm oil and they will thaw as the oil is heating.
