Ingredients for one-pot chicken pasta
Pasta
I used half a package of penne pasta, which added texture. Whole wheat or other shapes also work. I didn’t cook the pasta before adding it, letting it absorb the sauce’s flavors while cooking, creating a rich taste. This method saves time and infuses the pasta with a savory essence, enhancing the meal.
Pasta sauce
I used one 8 oz jar of marinara sauce, which already has flavoring and spices. Adding any additional salt and spices according to the pasta sauce you are using.
Spices
The spices used for seasoning the chicken complement the pasta sauce’s flavors. I used salt, paprika, pepper, oregano, onion, and garlic powder. If you dislike oregano, substitute it with parsley.
Heavy cream
Heavy cream makes this pasta creamy and rich. If you are calorie conscious, you can substitute a lighter cream or don’t use it at all.
Cheese
I used half a cup of shredded colby jack cheese, which adds a delightful creaminess, but any cheese of your choice, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or even a pepper jack for some heat, will do wonderfully in this recipe.
Feel free to mix and match different types of cheese to create a unique taste that suits your preferences or what you have available in your pantry.
